Experience

My philosophy: High test scores do not necessarily indicate a good teacher! Mastery of a subject certainly helps establish credibility, but knowing how to adapt information to each student's learning style is even more important. After tutoring for over a decade, I have learned how to not only teach subjects in a memorable way, but also teach them strategies to become problem solvers through tackling problems in a variety of ways. Whether it's helping students with the concepts themselves or with strategies for overcoming multiple-choice standardized tests, I will give you all the tools you need to succeed! Previous Experiences/Scores: ACT: I have taught multiple ACT classes for The Princeton Review, with class sizes ranging anywhere between 2 and 10 students. In addition, I have tutored individual students on my own, mainly focusing on strategies to maximize points! My score: 34 (individual breakdown available upon request). Math: I have been tutoring middle school and high school level math since 2006, using innovative methods to explain concepts at an appropriate level for the student. Essay editing: For personal statements, I generally give feedback through e-mail until the student is happy with the content in their final draft and then spend a few hours with them in person editing specific grammar and making sure that each sentence says exactly what the student intends. Location: I would prefer to meet at 1245 Astor Ave, the clubhouse for Woodbury Apartments. If you would like to meet on campus, I can also meet at these locations: downtown branch of the Ann Arbor Public Library, Taubman Medical Library, Dental School, Shapiro Undergraduate Library, or any of the coffee shops near the downtown UM campus. Pricing: Please contact me for specific pricing inquiries. References: available upon request. I will put you in contact with a recent student that I have taught/have been teaching (or their parents if applicable) and you can ask them any questions you'd like! Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about anything I wrote or even questions I may have not addressed--I would be more than happy to discuss any concerns you may have.

Hobbies

Besides being a student, I love to travel (particularly to visit friends or family), bake, play board games, and read! I also like to de-stress after a long week by playing the piano. I also love snowboarding, especially since it make the long Michigan winters more bearable!!
